Crotone are fighting for their lives in the Italian Serie A and their Nigerian import Simeon Nwankwo (Simy) has hit form just at the right time, his goals have been instrumental in helping Crotone go 4 points clear of the relegation zone as the battle for survival intensifies among teams at the basement of the league table.

Simy was on target last week with a sumptuous overhead kick to help Crotone earn a draw against mighty Juventus in the Italian Serie A. On Sunday Simy was on hand to notch up two goals as Crotone thrashed Sassuolo 4-1 at the Stadio Ezio Scida. Simy scored in the 16th minute to make the score 2-0, this was after Marcello Trotta scored as early as the 3rd minute to give Crotone the lead.

Simy again was on hand in the 89th minute to score his second and Crotone’s fourth to wrap up a comfortable 4-1 win for Crotone at home against struggling Sassuolo. Simy has now scored three goals in his last two matches for Crotone and has helped them garner four points from a possible six.
