Ogenyi Onazi’s Injury Is Not Serious; Out For Just 10 Days

Trabzonspor took on Kayserispor in a Turkish Super Lig match played at the Senol Gunes Akyazi Stadyumu last Saturday.

Nigerian defensive Midfield stalwart Ogenyi Onazi started the match but was replaced in the 28th minute by Ugur Demirok due to an injury he picked up in the match.

The midfielder’s injury created panic among his fans as there was speculation that he might miss the World Cup in Russia as a result of the injury.

However, the player has confirmed that he will be out for at least 10 days after he suffered a suspected sprained hamstring injury during a Super Lig match against Kayserispor on Saturday.

In an exclusive chat with Brila.net, Ogenyi Onazi disclosed that the injury was not as serious as first feared, but confirmed he will be out for 10 days based on the doctor’s assessment of the injury.

The Nigeria International has played 18 league matches for Trabzonspor this season, he started 14 of those matches and has accumulated a total of 1045 playing minutes and has two goals to his credit this season.

Trabzonspor are currently fifth on the league table with 45 points from 28 games and are hoping to qualify for the Europa League next season,
