Nigeria vs Uganda Friendly: Leon Balogun Ruled Out From Friendly

Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun will not participate in Tuesday’s international friendly match against the Cranes of Uganda.

Balogun who played the full 90 minutes for Nigeria in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in their 2019 Africa Cup of Nation qualifying match picked up a slight knock in the encounter and has been excused from the Uganda friendly match.

Leon Balogun didn’t arrive back to Nigeria with the team as he flew back to his base in England directly from Johannesburg in England for further checkups.
Also, Chelsea loanee Kenneth Omeruo will not play in Tuesday friendly between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Cranes of Uganda which will take place at the newly commissioned Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.  The Leganés of Spain defensive stalwart has been excused from the match due to personal reasons.
The remaining 21 players who made the trip to Johannesburg were seen embarking from the plane that brought the team to the Delta State capital on Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, Chelsea loanee Ola Aina is doubtful for the friendly match against Uganda due to inflammation of the heel and this was responsible for keeping him out of the matchday squad against Bafana Bafana of South Africa, according to coach Gernot Rohr.
The Super Eagles players didn’t train on Sunday as they were given the day off to relax after arriving back from Johannesburg and will hold their first training session on Monday morning.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Cranes of Uganda international friendly match will take place at the Steven Keshi Stadium in the city of Asaba, on Tuesday, November 20, 2019. Kick off time is 4 pm Nigerian time. The match will be shown live on DStv SuperSport 9 and GOtv SuperSport Select 2.
