CSKA Moscow Hope To Sign Ahmed Musa From Leicester City This summer

CSKA Moscow will be making a move to sign Ahmed Musa on a permanent deal this summer. The Super Eagles of Nigeria forward re-joined CSKA Moscow on loan in January, but there was no option to buy him outrightly at the end of the season in the loan deal.

Ahmed Musa has been very impressive since returning to the Russian club on loan,  he scored six goals in ten league appearances for CSKA Moscow, with his strike in a 2-1 win over Anzhi Makhachkala on Sunday helping the club secure automatic qualification into the group stages of the Champions League next season.

Leicester City management will take a decision on the future of all the club’s senior loanees, including Ahmed Musa, who did not make any Premier League appearance this season before he was sent out on loan in January.

It is certain that if Leicester City is to sell the player in the summer, they will hope to get back a substantial amount of the £16million they paid to CSKA Moscow in the summer of 2016/17 season to acquire his services after their title-winning season.

CSKA sporting director Roman Babayev told Championat: “Everything will depend on the position of Leicester, but we would very much like him to stay with us.

“If Leicester has a more profitable offer than we can offer, it will be difficult. Surely they have a goal to sell the player, and not loan him out again. But we will try to keep Musa.”
