Las Palmas boss Manuel Jiménez Jiménez is likely to be very pleased with the way his attack-minded team have started the campaign. During their stay in the top flight, the Gran Canaria club always adopted a forward-thinking approach, so it’s nice to see that such a philosophy has held firm. By scoring eight goals, Las Palmas is currently the highest scorers in the division, while they also have the best goal-difference at present.

If their fast start is anything to go by, then it’s very easy to think that the hosts will have too much in the locker for the visitors, who’re also new to the second division in Spain. On their own patch, Las Palmas has looked very strong.

They had too much in the locker for Reus on match-day one, while the way that they put Gimnastic to the sword last time out, scoring four goals in the process, was impressive. A repeat of that showing would almost definitely see Jiménez’s men come out on top on this occasion.

Since earning promotion from the third tier, Rayo Majadahonda hasn’t performed badly, but they’ve been far less exuberant than their hosts on this occasion.
