Wilfred Ndidi Set To Join Awoniyi At Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are on the verge of signing Wilfred Ndidi from East Midlands rivals Leicester City to further bolster their midfield.

Nottingham Forest are keen to complete the signing before the end of the transfer window this week.

They are closing in on a move for Ndidi from Leicester and we understand that the Nigerian midfield enforcer is pushing for the move.

After Leceister City were relegated from the Premier League, the midfielder has been keen to return to the top flight.

It will be a hefty blow for the Foxes, who have lost several key players in James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, and Youri Tielemans since their relegation to the Skybet Championship.

However, Leicester City has started the Championship season well under new manager Enzo Maresca with four wins in four.

Meanwhile, Tricky Trees boss Steve Cooper has made bolstering his midfield a priority before the window shuts this week.

He has already landed highly-rated youngster Andrey Santos on loan from Chelsea and now Forest look set to win the race for Ndidi, who is renowned for his defensive prowess in the middle of the pitch.

It comes after an unspecified injury to Orel Mangala, who was absent from the squad that faced Manchester United at the weekend, though it is not thought to be serious.

Ndidi would join compatriots Ola Aina, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Emmanuel Denis at the club.
