Victor Moses May Loss Fellow Wing-Back Marcos Alonso To Barcelona In A Shock Move
Victor Moses should brace up to lose fellow wing-back Marco Alonso to Barcelona as the Catalan giants are reportedly considering a swoop to sign the defender.
Those in charge at Nou Camp want the 27-year-old Spaniard to be the long-term replacement for the World Cup winner Gerard Pique who turns 32 next February.
Reports from Spain suggest that the La Liga club has identified the Chelsea left wing-back as the ideal man to fill the boots of Pique.
Pique is still playing at the highest level and has plenty to offer, but Barca chiefs know that the squad is ageing and needs some injection of younger blood to freshen things up.
Although Alonso has not played as a centre-back for Chelsea and he usually operates at left wing-back under Antonio Conte, he has experience playing as a centre-back for Fiorentina.

The Spaniard has sparkled for Chelsea playing in the left wing-back position under Antonio Conte who bought him in August 2016 for £23million. He was instrumental in helping the Blues to win the Premier League title in his first season.
Marco Alonso’s performances this season was good enough to win him a place in the PFA Team of the Year. Alonso also has excellent set-piece capabilities and this has helped him find the back of the net 13 times for Chelsea.
Although a potential move to the Barcelona would see him follow in the footsteps of his father, who was on the books of Barca in the 1980s. It is not clear if Chelsea will sanction the sale of Marcos Alonso.
The Blues might not want to sell him but instead try to secure his future by offering him a bumper new deal, despite him still being under contract until 2021.
