Nigerian Players Abroad: Wilfred Ndidi Dismisses Liverpool Link, Onazi And Agu Named In Team Of The Week In Turkey

Super Eagles Star Wilfred Ndidi has dismissed speculations linking him with a summer move to Liverpool. Rumours have been making rounds that Ndidi may well be the perfect replacement for German star Emre Can who is yet to sign a contract extension to his current deal which expires at the end of 2017/2018 season.

Wilfred Ndidi has pledged his future to Leicester City, declaring that he is happy at the club and has no plans to join Liverpool. Liverpool on the other hand has not made any official statement on the speculation linking the Super Eagles star with a move to Anfield at the summer.

Wilfred Ndidi is however on his way to the Super Eagles Camp in Wroclaw, Poland for the international friendly matches against Poland and Serbia.

In Turkey, the Nigerian duo of Ogenyi Onazi and Mikel Agu have been named in the Turkish Super Lig Team of the Week after posting spectacular performances for their respective teams at the weekend.

Trabzonspor thrashed Azubuike Okechukwu’s Yeni Malatyaspor at the weekend and Ogenyi Onazi who scored the forth and his second goal of the season for Trabzonspor got a rating of 8.5 while Mikel Agu who was also very impressive in Bursaspor’s 1-0 home win over Sivasspor earned a rating of 8.7.

Ogenyi Onazi who is yet to arrive at the Super Eagles Camp in Wroclaw, Poland is expected to play for Nigeria in the international friendly matches against Poland and Serbia.

Mikel Agu is however not part of the Eagles team for the friendlies while his fellow Bursaspor teammates, Shehu Abdullahi and William Troost-Ekong are in the squad for the friendlies.
