Super Eagles goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa was in goal for Enyimba for the fourth time this season and he kept a clean sheet for the second consecutive game, the first was in the barren draw against Wikki Tourist in Bauchi in which he was voted Man of the match for his heroics display in between the sticks for Enyimba.
The first half of the encounter ended goalless as both teams struggled to take control of the game. On resumption of the second period, Enyimba took the lead in the 51st minute through Joseph Osadiaye who connected with a fine header following an inch-perfect cross from Abdulrahman Bashir.
