Glasgow Rangers Flop Sadiq Umar Joins Perugia On Loan From AS Roma

After a very disappointing loan spell at Glasgow Rangers of Scotland, former Nigeria U23 international Sadiq Umar has returned back to his parent club AS Roma of Italy to complete a loan deal to join Serie B club Perugia until the end of the current season.
The 21-year-old left Glasgow Rangers in December after struggling to make an impact in Steven Gerrard’s team.

During his miserable six months stay at the Ibrox, Umar managed to make just a single league appearance, he came in as a 77th-minute substitute against St. Mirren.

He made three other appearances in a friendly match and Cup competitions before his loan spell was cut short due to his lack of first-team opportunities.

Born in Kaduna, he began his career in Italy during the 2013-2014 season in Serie D with the Lavagnese before joining Spezia the following year.

Since 2015, the attacker has been on the books of Roma, first joining on loan before securing a permanent transfer.

The Football College Abuja product previously spent time on loan at Bologna, Torino, NAC Breda and Rangers as he has not been able to break into the first team of the Giallorossi.
