Belgium vs Egypt International Friendly At Stade Roi Baudouin, Bruxelles. Time: 19:45 GMT

Belgium is hoping on getting back to winning ways after a disappointing goalless draw with Portugal who were without Christiano Ronaldo. The Belgians have just two warm-up friendlies remaining ahead of the World Cup in Russia and the first one will be played this Wednesday when the Devils of Belgium entertains the visiting Pharoah’s of Egypt at the Stade Roi Baudouin.

The Pharoah’s were also in action at the weekend and just like their Belgian counterparts, they played a goalless draw against Colombia. This match would afford Hector Cuper and his men the opportunity to taste themselves against world-class attacking lineup similar to the one they will face at the World Cup.

Egypt will be meeting with Uruguay on June 15th in their opening game of the World Cup and they would come up against the attacking prowess of Luis Suarez and Edison Cavani, so Belgium feels like a smart choice as a warm up. The Egyptians predictably seem to be struggling without Mo Salah, who is racing against time to be ready for the World Cup.

Egypt started their World Cup preparations with a match against Kuwait which ended in a 1-1 draw, the Pharaohs are without a win in their last five matches, while this year they have suffered defeats in the hands of Portugal and Greece. The Belgium match will certainly be their toughest test so far this year and it is difficult to see them come out with anything in this encounter.

Meanwhile, Belgium seems to be enjoying greater success in their warm-up matches, although they played a goalless draw with Portugal in their last match, that goalless draw was yet another clean sheet for Roberto Martinez’ led team.

The Belgian defence has not been bridged in their last three matches, the team remarkably have played five matches in a row at home, with all of their pre-World Cup friendlies being played in Brussels. While that might not be the greatest idea, it has made them more solid at their own ground.

Other than Vincent Kompany and Axel Witsel who are reportedly injured, Roberto Martinez does not have issues with injuries as we can expect to see Eden Hazard, Kevin de Bruyne, Dries Mertens and Romelu Lukaku all on the pitch on Wednesday. Egypt should not be dangerous up front without their star man Mo Salah in the team.

We believe the host with an impressive array of attacking talents should be able to get past Egypt and at the same time keep a clean sheet, so our prediction is a 2-0 victory for the Red Devils and Roberto Martinez.

Numancia vs Real Zaragoza, Spanish Segunda Division Playoff At  Nuevo Estadio Los Pajaritos, Soria. Time: 19:30 GMT

Numancia experienced a serious dip in form towards the end of the regular season and it was beginning to seem like they weren’t going to make it to the playoffs. However, a narrow 2-1 victory over Leonesa on the final day allowed Jagoba Arrasate’s men to keep their dreams of gaining promotion to the La Liga alive.

Meanwhile, Real Zaragoza, who finished the regular season in third place, confirmed their position in the playoffs prior to the final weekend, though that didn’t stop them from adding another three points to their tally when they visited already relegated Barcelona B side at Mini Estadi.

Zaragoza with victories in their last three matches has built up the right momentum and confidence ahead of this all-important face-off with Numancia on Wednesday night. It’s a huge match for both teams who will give anything to gain promotion to the La Liga next season.

Interestingly both Numancia and Real Zaragoza finished the previous season (2016/17) in the Segunda Division level on points and just two above the drop zone., but the just-ended campaign has seen both clubs improve massively as they fought their way to a top-six finish after 42 rounds of the regular season.

This is both clubs can dream of La Liga football next season, this match at Nuevo Estadio Los Pajaritos is the first leg of a promotional play-off semi-final and the winner after the reverse fixture at Estadio de la Romareda on Sunday will proceed to the promotional play-offs final.

The visitors head into this as favourites going by their current form, given that Rojillos barely managed to clinch the sixth place at the end of the season after winning just one point in four games before the victory against lowly Leonesa in the last round.

However, having seen the visitors concede goals against the top teams this season, Numancia will very much fancy themselves to do some damage in this fixture. After all, they’ve scored plenty of goals at home of late, notching in all but one of their last ten in front of their own fans.

Creating opportunities and scoring goals probably won’t be that much of an issue for a Numancia side who’re good with the ball, although defensively stopping a flying Zaragoza side, who scored against each of the top teams on the road during the regular campaign, and who’ve notched an impressive nine goals in their last three games, could easily prove to be beyond Arrasate’s men.

The head coach Jagoba Arrasate has reasons to be worried about his men’s defensive displays as Numancia have been very easy to break down lately. This will be the music to the ears of Zaragoza’s red-hot attacking line led by the phenomenal Celta’s loanee Borja Iglesias who has 22 goals to his name in this term of Segunda. Our prediction will be a double chance combo 1x and Under 4.5 goals at fulltime.
