This World Cup group, containing Brazil, Switzerland, Serbia, and Costa Rica, is absolutely wide open coming into this final round of matches. It’s a rather unfortunate position they are in to be fair. A hotly contested match with Switzerland was settled by a last-minute Xherdan Shaqiri goal, whilst at the other end, Aleksander Mitrovic saw a very strong penalty appeal waved away. They have looked very promising so far, but beating Brazil is another matter entirely.

They failed to beat Switzerland in their opener in a match that was surprisingly well matched, and Costa Rica managed to contain the waves of Brazilian attacks until stoppage time.
Eventually, Brazil went on to win 2-0, but it certainly wasn’t the Brazil we all expected to see. With Switzerland facing Costa Rica in their final game, Brazil knows that there’s a good chance they need a win to secure the top spot in this group.
