The Europa League qualifiers continue on Thursday, with Andorran side Engordany heading for the next round. These two met just a week ago, and Engordany claimed a 2-1 victory at home to put one foot in the second round.
However, are they about to claim another European win, or will this be a remarkable turnaround for hosts Folgore? The pair is hoping to secure a strong run in the Europa League this summer, but as things stand it’s going to be tough for the hosts to turn around their first leg loss.

The duo meet in San Marino on Thursday night with everything still to play for, but the hosts do have to turn around a terrible record in Europe. They come into this second leg encounter with some strong domestic form, but their record in the Europa League does seem to suggest that Engordany are as good as through to the next round at this point.
The hosts have lost every European game they’ve played, dropping out of the first round in European competition frequently in recent years. Nine straight Europa League defeats suggest that the hosts aren’t in the running to make the next round.
Given that they’ve shipped 11 goals across their last four at home in this competition, they have little hope of salvaging anything from Thursday’s second leg.
Engordany is playing just their second European tie, and they don’t seem burdened by a history of falling short. They started their first ever European season with a win, recording a 2-1 victory in Andorra last week.
They are now out to follow that up with another win, and the bookies have priced them up as favourites for the result in San Marino on Thursday. We think the price on another Engordany victory is fair, given how Folgore has performed in Europe to date.
