This game features two of the form teams in the Swedish Allsvenskan. Norrkoping is enjoying much the better overall season but Elfsborg have picked up enough positive results in recent weeks to suggest they can be a threat on their day. They are riding high in 3rd heading into this round of fixtures and right in the thick of what promises to be a real battle for the title with several possible contenders. AIK are in the box seat but Norrkoping caused them real problems in a 3-3 draw between the sides in Solna in May and they will not fear anyone in this division. They’ve taken 4 points from 2 games since returning from the summer break and will be hoping to move into 2nd place on Monday.

Elfsborg looked like surprise relegation candidates over the first few weeks of the season but have gone some way to easing those fears since. However, it is worth noting that Elfsborg’s recent wins have mostly come against weak teams. They’ve only won 4 Allsvenskan games all season and 3 of them were against current bottom four sides. The exception was a victory against a badly out of form Orebro, so they do still have a point to prove against the stronger sides, of which Norrkoping is certainly one.

Norrkoping’s excellent home record also suggests that they are more likely to emerge victoriously. They have an 86% home win ratio this season, which is clearly very good going by anyone’s standards. No Allsvenskan side can better their tally of 18 home points and their average of 2 goals scored per home game is also impressive.

They will feel as though they are capable of beating anyone in this division with their own fans behind them and an Elfsborg side that has struggled to defeat anyone at the right end of the league should be no exception, despite their recent good form. Backing Norrkoping to Win looks like it could be the value bet here.

It promises to be a competitive game though and going for a 2-1 Home Win appeals and that has been Norrkoping’s joint most common home scoreline this season in the league. Our main prediction is “Over 1.5 Goals” at fulltime.
