Arsenal Player Rating Vs Atlético Madrid: Lacazette’s Goal Not Enough To Win It For The Gunners
Arsenal was impressive in their Europa League semi-final match against Atletico Madrid, but wastefulness in front of goal and a calamitous string of errors in defence led to a disappointing 1-1 draw at the Emirates on Thursday night.
Arsenal went in front through Alexandre Lacazette who was guilty of missing a couple of gilt-edged opportunities but still managed to led the line very well on a big European night for the Gunners.
He was sumptuously set up for a headed goal by Jack Wilshere’s excellent cross in the 61st minute, but Antoine Griezmann’s 82nd-minute equaliser after a terrible Laurent Koscielny error has left Arsenal in serious danger of being knocked out of the competition.

Laurent Koscielny and defensive partner Shkodran Mustafi were shaky at the back just like they have been all season while Mesut Ozil failed to conjure up any form of inspiration to threaten the opponent’s defence despite Alexandre Lacazette and Danny Welbeck’s best efforts.
Here is the rating of how each Arsenal player performed:
Arsenal Player Rating
Ospina 6/10
Pulled off an excellent save from Griezmann in the first half, and he had a decent game.
Bellerín 7/10
He was quite good at pushing the attack. He had both pace and power going forward, always looking to overlap.
Mustafi 6/10
He had a much better performance than in previous games, he was disciplined and focused all through the game.
Koscielny 6/10
Had a good game until that calamitous error that led to Arsenal conceding at home.
Monreal 6/10
Did very well in the defence and even went close to giving Arsenal the lead through a volley.
Ramsey 7/10
Worked extremely hard in the midfield and had a couple of decent shots from outside the box.
Xhaka 7/10
Played a deep role just in front of the defence, he was disciplined and well composed in that role.
Wilshere 8/10
Put up a man of the match display, his brilliant cross set up the opener for Lacazette.
Welbeck 8/10
Was lively with excellent movement and pace, he was extremely unlucky not to have found the back of the net and was denied a few times by terrific saves from Oblak.
Özil 6/10
Tried his best but couldn’t carve out good scoring chances for both Lacazette and Welbeck playing up front for the Gunners.
Lacazette 7/10
Scored a brilliant headed goal despite missing some great scoring chances.
