Tottenham Reluctant To Initiate New Contract Talks With Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in no rush to offer striker Harry Kane a new contract, with the England captain “wanting to assess the club’s progress before deciding on his future”.

Harry Kane produced one of the performances of the season as he scored twice in Sunday’s 3-2 win over Manchester City at the Etihad stadium.

The 28-year-old had pushed to join Pep Guardiola’s side last summer, only for Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to block a move.

Kane turned down a lucrative contract extension and his current agreement has two years remaining at the end of the current season.

Reports in the British media have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are not planning to approach Harry Kane over a new contract for now.

The report claims that Spurs “accept” the ball is in Kane’s court and it is currently down to the striker making the first move at present.

The striker though wants to assess the club’s progress under Antonio Conte before he decides whether to commit his future to Spurs.
