Ubong Ekpai Signs For Czech Champions Viktoria Plzen
Viktoria Plzen the newly crowned Czech Republic champions have announced the signing of former Akwa United Nigerian midfielder, Ubong Ekpai, on a three- year deal. Ekpai, who is 22, joins Viktoria Plzen from another Czech club, Fastav Zlin.

“FC Viktoria Plzeň have completed the signing of Nigerian player Ubong Moses Ekpai!?? ✍The 22-year-old arrives from Zlín and has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Doosan Arena. Welcome in Plzeň, @UbongEkpai!,” reads a tweet on the club’s official Twitter handle on Monday.
The former Akwa United midfielder who has represented Nigeria at the U-23 level and even scored for the Dream team in an international friendly against Brazil made 22 league appearances for Fastav Zlin in the just-concluded season and scored five goals.
Ubong Ekpai has previously played for Slovan Liberec on loan from Isreali club Maccabi Haifa in the 2016/2017 season, before signing for Fastav Zlin and now Viktoria Plzen which will be Ekpai’s third Czech club.
Viktoria Plzen will compete in the Champions League next season after winning their fifth league title in eight seasons. They also got to the round of 16 of the last UEFA Europa Cup and narrowly lost to Sporting Lisbon of Portugal
