Against a Clarets team that might be a little punch drunk after their mid-week bout with Man City, Tottenham will expect to win this weekend, though Spurs’ continued fragility at the back means that a clean sheet is unlikely.
Tottenham conceded two goals in each of Jose Mourinho’s first four matches in charge, and the club’s only two shutouts in their last 13 games in all competitions were both secured against a weak Red Star Belgrade team in a pair of Champions League group games.
Burnley, who have only failed to score twice in 11 Premier League matches, will feel like they have the tools and physicality to ruffle a few feathers in North London this weekend.
It remains to be seen if Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes will work in tandem on Saturday, though either one of the burly center-forwards will make life very uncomfortable for a less than convincing-looking Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez defensive partnership.
