Osimhen Is Very Dangerous – Eintracht Frankfurt Goalkeeper Afraid Of The Nigerian Striker

Having cruised their way through the group stage, Napoli returns to Champions League action on Tuesday, when they visit last year’s Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.

The Serie A leaders blitzed through to the last 16 by winning their first five matches, while their hosts fought back on Group D’s final day to snatch the second spot. The pair now contest the first leg of a tie which decides who will reach the quarter-finals.

Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has expressed his admiration for Napoli and Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the clash between the two clubs.

Napoli will travel to the Deutsche Bank Park to trade tackles with Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League first knockout round fixture.

Tuesday’s game will be the third meeting between Eintracht Frankfurt and Napoli, with the Germans winning the previous two in the UEFA Cup nearly three decades ago. Indeed, they have only lost two of 11 matches against Italian opposition to date, and none since being beaten by Palermo back in 2006.

Holders of the Europa League, Frankfurt are certainly a team on the rise, and they will now become the 11th different German team to play in the Champions League knockout rounds and incidentally, the most of any nation.

Napoli has won 18 of their last 19 league matches, while Osimhen has racked up 18 goals in his 19 top-flight appearances. Napoli has only lost once in the league all season, their loss came against second-placed Inter Milan.

Victor Osimhen has only one goal in Europe this term, with injury limiting his impact, but he has been in devastating form in the Serie A, where he has found the back of the net in each of his last seven games and has 18 goals overall to sit atop the goalscorer chart.

It would be interesting to see how Frankfurt’s defence and goalkeeper will fare against one of the most prolific finishers currently in Europe’s top five leagues.

The Eintracht Frankfurt Goalkeeper Kevin Trapp admitted that Osimhen is very dangerous, but the 32-year-old German stopper still believes that the entire Napoli team has been excellent.

“Osimhen is very dangerous, but it’s not just him,” Trapp told OmaSports TV, as per Tutto Napoli.

“We’re talking about a strong team on the whole who are playing very well.

“We know them; they’re an excellent team. They have many points ahead of their pursuers, and this is a fantastic thing.”

Both sides are full of confidence as they head into this clash, which pits together two Champions League outsiders seeking to challenge Europe’s established order. Victor Osimhen could once again be the player to make the difference.
