Impressive Round Of Matches In The Euro 2024 Qualification Series

As the qualification for the EURO 2024 returns a couple of matches took place in several match venues across Europe.

The likes of France were in action claiming massive away wins. As well as England, Greece and Ukraine recorded a maximum of three points to aid themselves in the qualification series.

And with more games to be played, Allnigeriafootball.com highlights some of these matches as they happened in Europe in essence.

EURO 2024 QUALIFICATION- QUALIFICATION: GROUP B

                                    Gibraltar 0-3 France

Didier Deschamps France side claimed a massive away win in the qualifiers as Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Greizmann inspired the 2018 World Champions to an impressive away win.

Goals from AC Milan star Olivier Giroud (3rd minute) and Kylian Mbappe (45+3 minute) gave France the 0-2 lead going into the half-time break.

However, Aymen Mouelhi put into his own net to make it 0-3 for France in the 78th minute of the game.

                                   Greece 2-1 Ireland

Greece claimed a narrow 2-1 win over the Republic of Ireland as they picked up the massive three-point in the game.

A 15th-minute goal from Tasos Bakasetas opened the scoring for the Greece side. Nathan Collins equalized to make it 1-1 for Ireland in the 27th minute.

But Greece reclaimed the lead 4 minutes after the restart courtesy of a goal from Giorgos Masouras.

EURO 2024 QUALIFICATION- QUALIFICATION: GROUP C

 

                                    Malta 0-4 England

England as expected thumped Malta away from home as Ferdinando Apap opened the scoring courtesy of an own goal in the 8th minute.

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold then doubled England’s advantage (0-2) in the 28th minute.

With Skipper Harry Kane making it 0-3, just three minutes later. However, Callum Wilson added his name to the score sheet to make it 0-4 for England.

The Newcastle United striker scored in the 83rd minute of the match.

                                    North Macedonia 2-3 Ukraine

Ukraine came from 2 goals down to seal a 2-3 win away at North Macedonia.

The home side raced into a two-goal lead courtesy of strikes from Enis Bardhi and Eljif Elmas in the 31st and 39th minutes.

However, Ukraine produced a comeback show as Illia Zabamyi, Yukhym Konoplya and Viktor Tsygankov scored in the 62nd, 67th and 83rd minute to complete a dramatic comeback win in the contest for Ukraine.

 

EURO 2024 QUALIFICATION-QUALIFICATION: GROUP D

                                    Latvia 2-3 Turkiye

Abdulkerim Bardakci opened the scoring for Turkiye in the 23rd minute. But Latvia’s Eduards Emsis equalized after the intermission to make it 1-1 in the 51st minute.

Cengiz Under gave the Turkiye side a 1-2 lead in the 61st minute while Latvia’s goal scorer Eduards Emsis picked up a red card in the 83rd minute.

Nevertheless, Latvia equalized in dramatic fashion with Kristers Tobers scoring in the 90+4 minutes to level things up for his side at 2-2.

But Irfan Kahveci stole the show with the winning goal a minute later to seal a 2-3 away win for the Turkish National side.

                                    Wales 2-4 Armenia

Former Manchester United striker Daniel James open the scoring in the 10th minute for the Wales side.

But a pair of goals from Lucas Zelarrayan and Grant Leon Ramos ensured Armenia raced into a 1-2 lead.

On the other hand, Grant Leon Ramos scored his brace to make it 1-3 in the 61st minute. Harry Wilson scored to reduce the deficit for the Welsh side in the 78th minute to make it 2-3.

But Armenia wasn’t done scoring as Lucas Zelarrayan grabbed a brace in the 75th minute to seal an emphatic 2-4 win on the road.
