CAF Confederation Cup Draw: Nigerian Clubs Faces Tough Hurdle To Reach Group Stages
The Total CAF Confederation Cup draw was held this evening in the Egyptian Capital Cairo, Nigerian clubs in the competition Plateau United, MFM FC, Akwa United and Enyimba FC got very tough oppositions and faces an uphill task in order to qualify for the group stages.
The Nigerian Premier League Champions, Plateau United will face another North African opposition as they were drawn to play U.S.M Alger of Algeria, Plateau United will host the 1st leg before travelling to Algeria for the 2d leg two weeks later.
MFM FC will battle Djoliba AC De Bamako of Mali in what looked liked the most favourable draw among the four Nigerian clubs. MFM will host the 1st leg in Lagos at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium between April 6-8, 2018 before travelling to Bamako for the 2nd leg between April 17-18, 2018.
Akwa United who are the current holders of the Aiteo Cup will trade tackles with Sudanese Club El Hilal. The Promise Keepers will travel to Khartoum for the 1st leg before hosting El Hilal two weeks later at the Godswil Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Enyimba FC of Aba who are no strangers to Continental Cup Competitions will lock horns with Bidvest Wits of South Africa. The 1st leg takes place in South Africa while the 2nd leg holds in Calabar two weeks later.
