Bournemouth vs Manchester United Match Preview And Possible Lineups

Manchester United travels to the Vitality Stadium to play AFC Bournemouth after a catastrophic loss to bottom dwellers West Bromwich Albion on Sunday, United boss Jose Mourinho will be seeking a confidence-boosting response from his players ahead of the FA Cup semi-final clash against Tottenham Hotspurs at the weekend.

Bournemouth is in mid-table and is practically safe from the relegation survival battle, while Manchester United are also comfortable in second place but will be eager to erase the bitter taste of last weekend defeat at home to West Brom.

The last time that these two teams met at Old Trafford, Manchester United ran away with a narrow 1-0 victory, thanks to a Romelu Lukaku’s headed goal.

AFC Bournemouth will be without Junior Stanislas, Tyrone Mings, and Adam Smith. Aside from these long-term injury absentees, every other first team players will be available for selection.

Eddi Howe, the coach of Bournemouth is expected to make some slight changes to the first eleven. Callum Wilson, who was an unused substitute in the last match may be restored to the starting line-up in place of Jermain Defoe.

There are no major injury concerns for Manchester United except for second choice goalkeeper Sergio Romero who is out with a knock, and considering the fact that there is an important FA Cup clash coming up in a few days time, Mourinho might decide to rest some players.

Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Eric Bailly, Ander Herrera and Anthony Martial might be given starting berth by Mourinho, which means regulars like Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez will be rested for the Bournemouth match.
