Can Sampdoria return from the international break with three points? They host Sassuolo this week in the final match of the round in Serie A. The hosts have managed to break into the top five after a strong start, while recent form has sent Sassuolo down to eighth.

The Neroverdi were among the sides in the European places after some strong early form, and they’ll be hoping to leapfrog Sampdoria when the pair clash at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Monday’s clash in Italy.

The hosts are no strangers to this position, they made a brilliant start to the previous campaign too. They were in the top six for large periods of that but ended up dropping out after a poor run in the second half of the season.

Sassuolo head here with a goal in 10 of their last 11 matches on their travels in the league. They should fire at Sampdoria, having scored in their last five trips on the bounce. After all, the hosts have conceded in their last three at home, so we can see the Neroverdi getting some joy.

However, Sampdoria’s home form over the last 14 months is among the best in Italy, so it’s another thing entirely for Sassuolo to come away from here with a point.
