Arsenal’s hosting of Vitoria Guimaraes on Thursday certainly didn’t disappoint from a neutral perspective, with The Gunners falling behind twice to the Portuguese side before Nicolas Pepe scored a late brace to win them the game.

This match summed up Arsenal as a club pretty well. Going forward they can be utterly devastating at times, but their defensive solidity is practically nonexistent. This translates to the Premier League too, where they have scored 13 goals and conceded 12 so far, keeping just two clean sheets in nine matches.

Arsenal’s four wins from these nine games leave them 5th in the table, although, with just two points between themselves and Chelsea and Leicester above, victory on Sunday could move them into the coveted Champions League qualification spots.

However, Crystal Palace looks like a completely different side than the one that has battled against relegation for the past few seasons. Despite their 2-0 loss to Manchester City last weekend, The Eagles sit 6th in the table and just a point behind their opponents on Sunday.

Roy Hodgson’s men even managed a shock 2-1 win away to Manchester United, although in all honesty they were very lucky to get that win and the 4-0 thrashing at Spurs that followed indicated that it was probably a one-off.

One thing we’re not used to seeing from Crystal Palace is goals, but that’s exactly what their away games have been delivering this season. 11 of the 18 goals scored in Crystal Palace matches have come away from home, with three of their four away days ending with at least three goals on the score sheet.

As we hinted at before, Arsenal isn’t exactly known for their low scoring games either. Emery’s men have seen three or more goals in three of their four home league outings this season, and the last time Crystal Palace visited the Emirates it ended 3-2 to the away side.

All things considered, we like the look of Over 2.5 Goals on Sunday, and we’re backing that along with a 2-1 win for Arsenal. The Gunners have averaged 2.17 goals per game at home since Emery took charge, conceding an average of 0.91 goals per game at the same time, so a 2-1 win for them looks the most likely outcome, our main prediction is Over 1.5 Goals.
