Super Eagles Intensify Training In Asaba Ahead Of Bafana Bafana Clash

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have intensified their preparations ahead of Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash against South Africa with 22 players taking part in Tuesday’s training session.

The camp is almost full with the French-based winger, Samuel Kalu been the only player still expected in camp. Tuesday’s training session took place at the newly commissioned Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

As at Monday, which was the first day of training, only seven players were available and the players headed for the gym to prepare for the game, while 15 other players joined up with their teammates on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles players are expected to train twice on Wednesday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium before flying straight to Johannesburg on Thursday evening from Benin City airport aboard a Max Air chartered flight.

The Super Eagles will have their first training at the FNB Stadium Johannesburg on Friday, a day to the match. The Super Eagles are currently top of Group E standings in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers with 9 points, just 1 point ahead of South Africa, while Libya is on 4 points and Seychelles have 1 point.
