Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s troops only just made it through the group stage, winning just 2 of their 6 matches but having reinforced well during the current domestic off-season and with key players, Fernando Gago and Dario Benedetto fit once again, they look set to challenge for the crown.

Ultimately, we’re expecting Boca to win; and to win big. They have an unbelievable array of attacking talent in their team and you really do have to fear for Libertad in their current state. The Bombonera crowd will be expecting a big showing from their team and low on confidence, it’s hard to see Libertad standing up to the task at hand.
We like the look of backing Boca on the -1 handicap. In last season’s Argentine Superliga, they won 12 of their 14 home games whilst scoring an average of 2.28 goals a game, whilst they’ve also secured victory in 5 of their last 8 Libertadores matches. Man for man, Boca is a far stronger outfit than Libertad and that should be more than apparent come in the course of the match, our main prediction is a home win for Boca Juniors.
